I'm not Redskins fan (& i was no Chiefs fan, either)but i must say a 700 page playbook seems freakin crazy. he must have everything in there from the Tom Turner Starwars set to the Giles Single Wing. do you think he has diagramed every possible variation on every possible route in every possible offensive formation? ive always considered myself an offensive minded guy, but 700 pages is taking it a bit far. Bill Walsh would have never hired this guy...

Im a Chiefs fan, and let me tell you, Al Saunders is one of the best around. The Chiefs never had good receivers, yet their passing game was always around the top of the NFL. You would never see the same look twice. Once the Skins get a QB that can get the ball downfield, and get the ball to the middle of the field, then they will be dangerous.
Its a very difficult system to learn, hence the struggles. The bears tried to run the system with inferior talent 2 years ago but the biggest problem was the playbook led to confusion and the quarterback situation was bad. While the chiefs run the system very well, its not a system for every team.
Part of what makes low quality receivers effective is a line like what the Chiefs had. When you have 4 seconds to get open, an average receiver can do it. Plus, Trent Green is a good QB, and the defense was always softened up by Priest and last year Larry.

When you just average 3 yards per pass attempt then somethings wrong. I can't stand this dump off pass crap. As far as I'm concerned Saunders can take his 700 page playbook and use it for toliet paper! Joe needs to go back to calling the plays and hand the qb position over to Campbell. He certainly can't do any worse.

Guys, this is amazing, I was driving along today and saw what appeared to be a HUGE book lying on the side of the road. Being an avid reader, I decided to stop and check it out and lo and behold it was a lost copy of the 700 page playbook. On the cover it said, "Al Saunders 700 Page Playbook - For Mark Brunell's Eyes Only" Now, I couldn't resist; I opened it up and read the first few pages. Remember, do not let anyone else know about this. If news of this spread around the league, well then you can only imagine how much that would hurt our offense and prevent us from scoring offensive touchdowns against teams like the Cowboys.
